Description
Take a ride with some good old fashioned, home-grown, American hard rock in our 2013 debut album! We've been described as 'melodic hard rock' being compared to 'Alice in Chains', 'Soundgarden', and 'King's X'.
Notes
August formed as a local venue rock band in 2011 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Guitarist Terry and Bassist Stew (who had been in previous bands together) got the idea to do an original rock band and started searching for a drummer to fill out the trio. Stew and Terry met with a previous band member of Stew's, Chris and played a few tracks to see if he was interested. One of the first tracks they played the demo of was 'Firewater' (Track 6 on this album!) Instantly sold on the style, they had lured drummer Chris into their rock trap with the sweet, sexy sound of the original orchestration. August was formed.
We started out rocking opening acts in some of our favorite local Raleigh venues like Lincoln Theater, Volume 11, Berkeley, and Slims. As we finished working up a full set of music, we decided that we wanted to get our debut album recorded and available before we started writing more music. We held a few recording sessions and spent a ton of time mixing. We're very excited to bring you our debut album and hope you enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it!
