Description
Experimental industrial rock.
Notes
After forming in late 2005, the group collectively decided that they wanted to experiment with something fresh musically, and incorporate a new element into the hard rock formation they had already built. With a mix of heavy guitars and drums, the group introduced synthesizers and samples to shape and mold their new sound. “We wanted to incorporate new structures and new ideas that we had had for a long time, but sounds that our guitars alone just could not produce.” Using keyboards and electronic beats that sound almost mechanical at times, these instruments became driving forces in the bands new direction. AVS started concentrating on blending their dark sounds with eclectic and emotional melodies built around structured songs where lyrics were a focal point. Angry, anthemic vocals came through seamlessly on the new tracks. “We wanted the attitude of sonic chaos to come across just as effectively on our recorded versions as it does live.” With a mix of song titles such as “Save Yourself”, “The Needle”, and “Darkest Days”, the eeriness the band was searching for was found. Locked away for almost a year in the studio, and determined to write an album that speaks on its own behalf, the Hard Rock / Industrial formation of A Vacant Soul has emerged ready to unleash its debut EP. Building upon the momentum of their new release, a unique sound, fashionably dark visuals, and unforgettable live shows, the band is equipped to promote and tour in support. But even though this is only the first chapter for the band, AVS promises this is only a taste of what is to come. AVS has had the honor of sharing the stage with such bands as Flyleaf, DOPE, The Exies, Smile Empty Soul, Autovein,Eve to Adam, Noon Blue, Headsnap and many others.
