**The album \'Firegirl\' was released within the music industry in 2006, and is now available to the general public for purchase!**
Beginning as a brother and sister duo in 1998, songwriter Mike Strype and vocalist Jennifer Strype found success early on with their demo CD ‘Beginner’s Luck’. They decided to put together a full band to hit the live curcuit and the band line up as of 2000, consisted of Vince Villa on drums, Mike Stocco on bass, and Jordan Cooledge on guitar. After the recording of the inital \'Beginner\'s Luck\' demo, they headed back into the studio to record a 5 song EP, with Mike Strype producing, and Vince replaced by drummer Michael Braun. The CD went on to garner radio play and awards. After playing a number of shows and selling out of the initial 1000 copies that were printed of the EP, they headed back into the studio in 2002 to record \'The Next Big Thing\'. Bassist Paul Meaney replaced Mike Stocco, and they went down to only one guitarist after Jordan departed. Mike Strype continued with the producer duties and the album was a huge success, again selling out of it\'s initial 500 copy print run, securing the band licensing, radio air play and sponsorship deals with various companies. In 2004, pre-production began on the album \'Firegirl\' with Producer Darius Szczepaniak, who also ended up playing bass on the album, after Paul\'s departure. Michael Braun on drums and Peter Fera on bass, rounded out the live show and drove the band to new heights of rhythmic power. With introspective, yet accessible subject matter, the idea of masking darker themes with catchy, sing-able melodies had always been an Ariel’s Worm highlight, and was clearly evident on the \'Firegrl\' album. Having spent much of 2004 to 2006 in the studio working on the album, the band was anxious to get back out on the road, and playing clubs. The had a recidency at the Bovine Sex Club in Toronto and did many showcases for record labels and booking agents throughout 2005 & 2006. The bands distinct sound and recognizable image, easily seperated them from the usual crop of hard rock bands, and the newer edgier material gained them a whole new group of fans. Ariel’s Worm made a big splash with \'Firegirl\' and after much sucess decided in 2007 to go their seperate ways. Mike and Jennifer have continued on under a different name, Strype.
