Notes
The Phil Dudley Band
Phil Dudley is an independent artist hailing from Birmingham, Alabama. As a third-generation musician, playing was not so much a choice as a calling, having been an integral part of his life for as long as he can remember. With influences drawing from Celtic Folk, Americana, Rock, and Country, Phil Dudley's music blends these influences seamlessly, incorporating the styles of many of his favorite artists and bands such as Tom Petty, Eddie Vedder, Kansas, Iona and Boston to create a musical tapestry that reflects his individualistic style.
Between the ages of 10 and 18, Dudley was classically trained on piano, attending weekly lessons and playing for hours on end every day. At age 19, he started writing original material and playing guitar. He started performing at venues in the Birmingham, Nashville and north Georgia regions, playing in clubs and restaurants 1-3 times a week. After 2 years of developing his skills, his band, and his catalog of original music, he released his debut album "Wonderland" on October 12, 2013.
Jack Dudley is a custom guitar builder/luthier living in Columbiana, AL. All of the instruments that you see him perform on stage, with the exception of his banjo, were crafted with his own two hands. Jack Dudley owns a small guitar building company called Don't Fret Instruments, a company that specializes in the making of custom bass guitars, lap steels, dobros, mandolines, acoustic guitars and ukuleles. Jack is an accomplished fretless bass player. Growing up in the 70's Jack was highly influenced by the music of bands such as Weather Report, Pink Foyd, Kansas and Aerosmith. Jack has been perfecting his craft since the age of eleven.
Erich Cousins is the drummer for The Phil Dudley Band. Cousins first met Phil Dudley back in 2008 in Columbiana, AL while performing in a band at a local church. Dudley and Cousins started playing music together on a consistant basis until Cousins left for Afghanistan in 2012 for a 9 month tour with the National Guard. Cousins returned home in the summer of 2013 and started recording with Dudley on his debut album "Wonderland". They released the album on October 12, 2013. Cousins draws influence from bands such as Pink Floyd, Yes, Foreigner and Journey.
George Dudley is the brother of Jack Dudley, the uncle of Phil Dudley and the guitarist for The Phil Dudley Band. George started playing guitar around the same time that his brother Jack started playing bass. They've played in numerous bands and projects together over the years. George's style is highly influeced by players such as David Gilmour and Kerry Livgren, among others.
The Phil Dudley Band's new album "All in My Head" was released on May 9, 2015.
