In the tradition of great bands like Uncle Tupelo, Jayhawks, Barenaked Ladies, Pavement, and The Raconteurs, Artistic Differences features two songwriters (Luke and Phillip) that trade lead vocals and guitar duties. Each has their own style, which leads to a breadth of sounds ranging from the hard rock to southern rock to the jaunty pop to noise.
