Description

Uk punk at its best, The Partisans are legendary and have inspired thousands of punk bands over the last 30 years..

Notes

The biggest of the 2nd Wave bands to emerge from Wales, The Partisans formed in Bridgend in early 1978, whilst still in their early teens. Their original lineup comprised Phil Stanton on vocals, Rob 'Spike' Harrington on guitar and vocals, Andy Lealand, also on guitar, Mark 'Shark' Harris on drums, and Mark 'Savage' Parsons on bass. When Savage and Phil left, the following year, after playing just one show at a local school, Spike moved to main vocals and Andy's girlfriend Louise Wright joined on bass, completing what is still regarded by many to this day as the 'classic' Partisans lineup. The band had indie chart success between 1981 and 1984. Police Story, 17 Years Of Hell and their first album "The Partisans" have become punk rock classics. Former members include Dave Parsons who found fame with Transvision Vamp and Bush.

After a 17 year hiatus the band reformed due to popular demand. Harrington and Lealand were joined by Lealands friends Mikael Gustavsson on drums and Magnus Neuendorf on bass (Lealand lives in Sweden) and in 2001 released the Hysteria Ep. The band toured the states and played most of Europe. The Idiot nation album was released in 2006.

In 2006 Mikael Gustavsson was replaced by Fredrik Berglund and the band did a further two US Tours...

In 2009 The Partisans decided to take a long break, Lealand eventually went on to concentrate on home recording and his solo project Repeater 64, Fredrik Berglund switched from the drums to Vocals and Guitar and formed Bombus, and Magnus Neuendorf went on to play in Bronco.

This latest release includes both the Idiot Nation album and bonus Hysteria EP...
