The lineup on this album includes Bob Hoot on guitar and vocals, Doug McLeod on bas, Dave McGuire on drums and the addition of a New Baldone Harvey Briggs on guitar and vocals.
Ornate Fiction is the second release from The New Baldones and represents a year of intense songwriting by Bob Hoot, and a lot of rehearsing and arranging by The New Baldones. The songs had to be just right before entering the studio. "We wanted the songs to have good production values, but also have a sound that we can play in our live shows," say Hoot. "It's not as easy as you think..." The band and the songs have evolved from their debut. The sound is a little grittier and the songs have more polish. That may seems contradictory, it is not.
