Notes
Eventually formed out of a church singing group for Unity of Toledo, Ohio, The New Love Express (Bonnie Shrider, Christopher Joseph, Christine Potter, Ellen Pizza and Mark Mikel) began recording their original songs in March 2013. Mark Mikel (formerly of internationally acclaimed psychedelic band The Pillbugs) produced the sessions in his private recording studio. With four writers and singers in the group, there is rich versatility and harmony. The lyrics are spiritual and positive. Stylistically there's rock, folk, reggae, psych, bluegrass, gospel and plenty of sunshine pop to go around. Recorded with real instruments so it has a retro-ish sound, but hits like a breath of fresh spring air.
