Description
A brilliantly crafted collection of heartfelt, powerful songs. Blending folk, rock, soul and pop as only they know how.
Notes
Karl Alexander
Travelling Man is my favourite because it epitomizes the grind of day to day life when especially you feel as though youre stuck in a dead-end job. But i guess it could apply to life in general with its metaphores hammering home the need to be "set free" from the tedium of work. The song has a nice feel and even more so with Sara Dee's background vocals emphasising the, " if i could run i would"...I guess with those lyrics your song speaks for us all.
Acoustic Circus
The Mavis Seed never cease to delight, entertain and astound. Two of the best voices I've ever heard, with some brilliant songs to match. Heart and soul - and then some!
The Matt Burnside Band
The Mavis Seed have an energy that just transfers out
in to the whole room, bringing everybody to life.
Russ Petcher:
I haven't heard any nice fiddly guitar bits like this in a long time. I love the flow of the rythm guitar on Blue House as well and whoever it is playing has obviously been playing for some time as there are a fair few tricky bits in there. The vocals on Blue House get my seal of approval too, they go up, they go down, they go all over the place. It's true what they say about the voice being a truly unique instrument.
