The Transcendece
What you have before you is an album of rare quality and distinction. This is an album that needs to be heard. The music contained on this CD is meant to be listened to with a certain amount of volume, not because it's a rock album but so that you can properly take in all the elements at play here. The Transcendence delivers a full spectrum of aural stimulation and in doing so they cover a lot of ground. The album ranges in tone from starkly beautiful melancholy to hard driving rapture without ever losing focus or attention to detail. It's an amazing ride.
The Transcendence is the brainchild of Danny Sather. Danny has spent his entire life submersed in music and art. He has a noteable reputation as a singer/songwriter both locally and internationally but this album is an incredible benchmark in his career. Danny enlisted his long time musical cohort Jason Slye (Peppersands, Catlow) a one of a kind guitarist who was the obvious choice for such an ambitious project. Together they crafted a collection of songs that demonstrate a truly powerful symmetry.
To help build the songs and to achieve new sonic levels Danny and Jason relied on maverick producer/musician Jamey Koch who also plays bass guitar and keyboards on the album. Jamey is well known for his work with artists such as Michael Buble and The Tragically Hip but working with The Transcendence was an opportunity for Jamey to really explore the full extent of his multi-talented range. The album was also engineered and mixed by Randy Staub who's work with such artists as AC/DC and Metallica put him into a very elite group of talent.
The result is a huge sounding album of rare complexity and a showcase of indisputable artistry by some of Vancouver's premiere talent. We hope you enjoy the album.
