Description
Soulful vocals, acoustic guitars, mellow grooves with words about love and life.
Notes
After Spending several years writing, recording and gigging his songs in London Ben began remixing and producing material for artists on labels such as EMI, XL and indie label Crosstrax.
Using a combination of acoustic guitars and basses, percussion and drum samples, orchestral arrangements and soulful vocals there is a truly diverse range of songs on his new cd.
Having released 4 studio albums on his own Goldmusic label (as well as many white label releases) Ben’s music has been compared to artists such as Ed Harcourt, Damien Rice and David Gray. The production has also been likened to more ambient, instrumental and cinematic music.
Some Ben Golding reviews:
Ben’s tunes have a visual, cinematic quality to them which would go down a storm with film producers. This is music with a power to grab the attention without ever seeming to try.
(Making Music)
Polished, enigmatic and affecting songs in the vein of contemporary songwriters such as Kevin Tahista or Ed Harcourt. Excellent, restrained arrangements enhance the experience. Great things not so much beckoning as madly arm waving.
(Musician)
His diverse vocal- think the melancholic sunshine of Romeo from the Magic Numbers meets Johny Cash’s Baritone-often goes from a deep rumble to a playful high-pitch in a single verse.
It’s the guitar work and production which truly stand out. His delicate and catchy melodies are classy and cool.
