ECSTATIC EMERGENCE began in 1977, when Paul Ramana Das Silbey
began to lead participative weekly chanting, drumming and dancing
evenings. Shared every Tuesday night for the past 25 years, this
form of devotional expression has evolved into the offering this
CD represents. Since 1991, his wife Marilena has joined him in
this tantric musical practice, enriching, enlivening, and
sweetening the mix.

"Well, you got to hand it to Paul Ramana Das and Marilena Silbey.
These two realy know how to have a good time, and they want to
inspire listeners to do the same. ECSTATIC EMERGENCE opens up with
'Essensual Yes!' An anthem invoking the listener's willingness and
receptivity. "YES!" combines repetitive chanting with New Age soft
jazz saxaphone riffs, setting the musical tone for the selections
that follow.
The second cut, 'God/Goddess Rising',is 'rubyourbodyallover'
sensual and slow. Affirmations of merging male and female divine
nature are chanted, underscored by a meandering piano improv:
"I am you- you are me, free of separation". It's time to
"claim our natural state, orgasmic meditation" For those familiar
with the Silbey's work, this blending ot the sacred and sensual
is at the core of everything they do.

'Come Tara' opens with a strong drum beat and shimmering
percussion, flowing into a beautifully haunting guitar line that
goes straight for the heart chakra as Paul and Marilena "flow
into the ocean of each other". The primal drone of the digeridoo
is driven into the next offering, 'Dancing Dream Time', by
insistent rhythms of hand drums, providing a pleasant awakening
massage for the lower chakras. Next, the light-hearted 'Cosmic
Family Boogie' contrasts a simple melody and pop guitar with a
light calypso-inspired beat, affirming that "We are family...
atoms in the Atoms family." 'Magical Mystical Mother' is a
reverent, lyrical hymn to the feminine aspect of God, followed
by the invocative and haunting 'Remember Light Decree'.

The stated intention of all the Silbeys' work is "personal
empowerment and empleasurement". Their joyful fun spirit is alive and well in everything they do... as reflected in this CD."
