"Flawlessly performed, Barb’s music is both peaceful and uplifting. She has full command of her keyboard instrument and fully utilizes its expressive potential."

Quiet Moments is not only a collection of beloved hymns; each song is played simply, slowly, and quietly. Did you know that scientists have discovered that blood pressure goes down when we listen to soothing, quiet music?

In my mind, the old hymns are among the most beautiful. More and more churches are incorporating them into their contemporary services, partly because of their beauty, and partly to keep them alive, I suspect. For when songs are no longer heard, they die out. And it would be a travesty to allow the old hymns, so full of not only loveliness, but character, and memories, to fade away. Young people deserve to become familiar with them, to enjoy their richness and beauty. Acquainting the younger generation with the old hymns helps bond them with the older generation, I think. And that... is priceless!!

So if you enjoy slow, meditative, quiet instrumental music, you just might like Quiet Moments. I hope that you do, and that it blesses you.

Quiet Moments is a collection of classic hymns that have been near and dear to my heart over the years. I can recall my first day as an upcoming fifth grader at my Sunday School class at Northminster Presbyterian Church after we moved to Finneytown here in greater Cincinnati. I was nervous about going to a new class, not knowing anyone. Even then, I felt as if I had stepped back in time. It was a traditional class, all seats facing forward, old wood frame chairs, old songbooks in an old room upstairs. Something was even more unique however; our teachers were all men (fathers of my classmates.) I don’t think I realized for a long time what an impact that had on me, to be taught by three wonderful, faithful, godly men. We sang traditional songs, accompanied by a piano. “This is My Father’s World” was one that we sang frequently and that I soon learned. “The Old Rugged Cross” was another one that I learned there. Whenever I hear those songs, it is so clear in my mind; I am back in time, in that room. I can still picture those three men and hear their voices as they lead us in worship and then broke us into groups to teach us the Bible lesson.

Of course, as a younger child I learned “Jesus Loves Me”. Most likely, it was the first song I learned in the church nursery at Westminster Presbyterian here in Cincinnati. Later when I was in college at Miami University in Oxford, Cat Stevens made famous “Morning Has Broken.” It became one of my favorite songs. And if you have ever attended a Billy Graham Crusade, or watched him on television, you too have probably fallen in love with “Just As I Am”.

I am also available to play at special events. I play popular music as well as gospel. You may contact me via email, barbtelecsan@aol.com. Recently I have been playing quiet background music for monthly healing services at College Hill Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. I recently played at Miami University's 200th celebration alumni fundraiser banquet at the Oscar Event Center (Cincinnati).) April 21st, I will be playing at the CCV (Citizens for Community Values) fundraiser banquet at the Xavier University Cintas Center (Cincinnati).

Below are some comments from satisfied customers:

Barb Telecsan provided musical accompaniment during our recent Spring Partnership Banquet at the Cintas Center on the campus of Xavier University.
What a delight! The mix of hymns and light classical music that Barb chose were the perfect background for our pre-event social hour and dinner, perfectly setting the tone for the event. Flawlessly performed, Barb’s music was both peaceful and uplifting. She has full command of her keyboard instrument and fully utilizes its expressive potential.
I highly recommend Barb Telecsan’s keyboard artistry

Barbara Telecsan performed at the Oxford Lane Public Library on July 10, 2007 and provided an enjoyable hour of entertainment. Her renditions of standards and popular songs from the 1940s through the 80s on piano were warmly received by the audience. Barbara Telecsan conducts herself in a professional manner, communicates well, and is easy to work with. I recommend her to any organization looking for musical entertainment within her area of specialty.

At a recent funeral at a large church, Barbara Telecsan was asked to play the piano during a 2 hour visitation prior to the service. Barbara did an outstanding job in providing appropriate music for those 2 hours. The family was very pleased and her fee was very reasonable. If you would like to speak to me personally about this, please feel free to contact me at 513-398-9100;
