Clocking in at 37 minutes, the five songs of Oculus deliver signature fuzzed out, dynamic grooves with plenty of the low-and-heavy the band’s audience has come to expect. What you hear will be sonically familiar, with a clear emphasis on riffs and rhythms, but a step in a freer power-trio direction. For all that, the album does not lacking for hooks either, capturing the guys stretching out to epic proportions as they are known to do. Longtime fans and those just discovering the band alike have much to sink their teeth into.
