Notes
PROFILES of CONNECTICUT - by Bill Pere
American History comes alive with this collection of songs about important people and events in Connecticut history. Connecticut played a pivotal role in our nation’s birth and growth, and this look at figures like Nathan Hale, Eli Whitney, P.T. Barnum, Roger Sherman, Mary Brewster, Anna Warner Bailey, and many more informs and educated while it entertains. The talent of three national award winning artists combines to blend modern and traditional folk influences. Connecticut State Troubadours Bill Pere and Tom Callinan collaborated on two tracks \"The Tides that Bind\", about the Mystic River, and \"USS Connecticut\", honoring the men and women who build and sail our nation’s submarines. National Immie-Award winner Kay Pere is featured with three tracks about women in Connecticut history, and about a rare flower that grows along the shoreline.
Bill Pere joins with the LUNCH Ensemble to present seven more original songs which take us from the American Revolution to Operation Desert Storm.
These songs will appeal to teachers, students, and anyone who appreciates the power of folk music to bring history to life.
12 Tracks, 41 minutes, Lyric Sheet Included.
