This performance of the Rachmaninoff Sonta for Cello and Piano is the winner of the McGraw Hill Young Artists Award and is taken from the original broadcast on WQXR New York City May 18, 1988. with an introduction by Robert Sherman.
Also included are solo piano works by Rachmanninoff and "bonus tracks" of solo piano music by Liszt and Chopin.

Paul Bisaccia has performed concerts on four continents. He graduated summa cum laude and first in his class from the Hartt School. His vast repertoire includes the great piano classics and he was the first artist to record the complete solo piano music of Gershwin. His PBS television show "Gershwin by Bisaccia" has been seen by millions and was dubbed into Mandarin Chinese for broadcast in Asia. Michael Feinstein calls "Paul Bisaccia and the Great American Piano", his second television show for PBS, "imaginative, fun, well played and totally satisfying." His third television show, Chopin by Bisaccia has been included in his newest DVD release Bisaccia on Television.
The Hartt School honored Paul with the Alumnus of the Year Award and the Governor of Connecticut proclaimed Paul Bisaccia Day in the State of Connecticut. PBS celebrated the day with a rebroadcast of his television shows. Bisaccia was also honored to perform Rhapsody in Blue in inauguration ceremonies for the new theater on the site of Aeolian Hall in New York, where Gershwin himself first performed his legendary masterpiece.

Christopher Pegis, cellist is the founder and Artistic director of Amici Chamber Players in Sarasota Florida. He has recorded on the Scarlet, Elfin, Centuar and Albany record labels. He has also recorded the cello Sonata and complete chamber works of Soulima Stravinsky.

Born in Rochester, N.Y., Mr. Pegis is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music and has studied with Allan Harris, Lynn Harrell, Robert Sylvester, Orlando Cole, David Finckel and David Wells. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Concert Atlantique International Debut competition in Geneva Switzerland and first prize in the Music Teachers National Association competition. He has performed with the Emerson String Quartet and has participated in numerous festivals including the Ravinia Festival, Yellow Barn Music Festival and the Scotia Chamber Players Festival.
