Notes
With this his 2nd studio album, Brian Hazelbower has refined his contemporary country sound.
Teaming up with accomplished musician, producer and award-winning composer Andrew Oye
“Back to the muse” has been described as 12 strong original songs wrapped up in the perfect musical package.
The first 9 tracks on the album are top 40 country, there's a southern rock ballad, an alt rock tune and ends with a catchy rockin’ blues dance number that’s a tribute to the music scene in Nanaimo”.
Brian’s passion for songwriting started some 25 years ago and has led to a real love of the craft of songwriting. Five of the songs on this new album are written entirely by Brian while seven of the tracks are co-writes with close friends as well as lyricists from across Canada, the US and Australia.
(Interestingly enough that 7 & 5 ratio is the same as his first album “One In A Million” which was released in 2004)
“There’s nothing I like more than sharing musical ideas and creating a really good song. If that song touches someone, gets them groovin’ or takes them away for a couple of minutes, I feel blessed."
For more than 8 years Brian has hosted the radio show “Songwriters Circle” which is broadcast Sunday mornings from CHLY 101.7fm in Nanaimo. (www.chly.ca) Brian credits the vibrant music scene on Vancouver Island and his years hosting the show in assisting him to become a better songwriter.
