Phil G. 25 is one of Chicago's brightest new emcees! Though new to some he has been involved with Chicago's underground scene for almost ten years! Formerly of the group "Loose Chain" Phillip Michael has won talent showcases and been said to be a true lyricst. His style is compared to the likes of hip hop greats like Common, and Nas for his content and sometimes sharp lyrical delivery. Others compare him to T.I. for his swagger when upon the mic. The trait that he possess that separates him from other rappers is his ability to come across blunt, and relate to the street as well as the masses without compromising his integrity. He is an MC that knows he has a responsibility to the people to deliver strong messages of truth and inspiration. His movement is one that personifies class, real hip hop and the glory of success. No gun play or murder just serious subjects over hypnotic production. Following the Berry Gordy philosophy of "its whats in the groove that counts!" Linking back up with high school friend "Really Doe" of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. music camp and feat. on "WE MAJOR", from the multi-platinum album "LATE REGISTRATION", Phil G. can be seen performing with the Really Doe at various events and venues like the HOUSE OF BLUES, and THE CONGRESS THEATER.
In 2008 Phil G is taking part in one of Chicago's largest festivals "The PUERTO RICAN FESTIVAL." Performing in front of over 10,000 people. He has opened for Mr West, and Common several times and is now ready to establish his own following. In Late 2007 Phil G. was one of the first artist to be featured on local radio station WGCI's brand new segment "GO ILL RADIO" with his new single "REWIND". Since then Phil G has been the only independent chicago artist to have five different singles from the same album (REFINED SWAGGER) played on the show! One of which "CRAFTED," was voted by the public #1 for 4 weeks in a row! The single "REWIND" has also been featured on other shows (THE COME UP) on WGCI as well several times. In 2008 he has two scheduled releases. A new LP called "REFINED SWAGGER"(MAY 13th 2008) which features the five singles (REWIND, CRAFTED, I AINT ON THAT, CRAZY AND SO NUTTS)! Phil G will also be featured on Really Doe's mixtape called "AMERICAN TOO FRESH". Scheduled to be released under the G.O.O.D. Music label.
