Description
As the title suggests, the songs on this album involve traveling and the related life transitions. A healthy dose of musical story telling with a down home acoustic flavor.
Notes
Movin On is Brad Belt's 3rd solo CD release. Brad is a singer/songwriter from southern Illinois. Brad's roots in rural America come out shining in his newest album. Featuring folk music storytelling at its finest, each song on this CD is like taking a trip. The theme of "travel" is used to take the listener on a series of journeys through time and place.
You will encounter unforgettable passion on an Amtrak train bound for Chicago, ride your pickup truck with a friend to Nashville, the city of dreams, take a father back to the land of his youth, drive just to get away from a love/life that didn't pan out, make a beer run through an ice storm, attend the funeral of a best friend, to escape from a Union prison, listen to a Confederate Captain give his last command, return to a time when trains ruled with their hypnotic magnificience, ride the internet with a new breed of crusader, visit a man who took life in the name of law, find a new spirit in the dance of a pretty senorita in the back country of old Mexico.
Brad's voice has an earthy and honest quality and rests comfortably above a beautiful blend of harmonies and instrumentation.
