Description
Orígenes y Destinos is a musical journey that showcases the rhythms and sounds of South America as experienced through a blend of traditions and contemporary genres like jazz, rock and pop.
Notes
Where Venezuelan merengue meets jazz and joropo meets rock, that's the crossroad that defines Orígenes y Destinos. A musical journey across a wide range of styles and genres, all anchored by the rhythms and traditions of Venezuela.
The album is the musical representation of the way we all change during our lifetime although our essence remains the same throughout. Venezuela has a rich history of music influenced by afro-cuban rhythms, european traditions and native Venezuelan instrumentation and folklore. Nonetheless, this history is ever changing, and with this album we embrace the new influences of rock, jazz and contemporary aesthetics into this vast tradition, carving a new transformation, while at the same time honoring the essence of this music. The album is all about the bridge between the origins and the destinations, whether it is from Caracas to New York, past and future or joropo and rock. Let this music start you on a new journey through the lands of joropo and merengue, and see if you find yourself transformed, just as we have when crafting this music.
