Description
This is one of the best instrumental albums (with light vocal nuances) of the decade. Great composers performing together to create this unique product. Movie theme, mood enhancing, perfect for inspiration of any kind.
Notes
When producer Tim McCabe came up with the idea of assembling a group of composer/instrumentalists for a colloraborative album, he hardly imagined the resulting music would be so good. His concept for this group, recording as Palomino Duck, itself was unique. Each composer/musician created one song for the album. It had to "flow" as a single creative work. Their first release, entitled "First Flight," has received rave reviews by many program directors on both contemporary instrumental stations and smooth jazz formats. Composer/producer Huston Singletary and engineer Ron Cristopher helped shape the sound of the group. McCabe worked to develop each of the songs on the CD. The sound sets it apart from other instrumental groups. Keyboardists Mac Frampton, Cheryl Rogers, and Beth Michaels added their original work. Composer/producer/guitarists Emory Gordy and John Martin also contributed their best. Film composer Marc Aramian penned the title song. Composer/arranger Skip Lane and Composer/producer Alan Shacklock round out the talented ensemble. "First Flight" - certainly one of the most innovative CDs of this and any other decade...
