The essence of Animus is the 'spirit'. The spirit of the soul - not in ambient floating tracks but music that is a soul in conflict with the world around it, at war - without violence but with resistance all the same. It's an underlying tension of music.
Notes
Animus refers to the spirit within us - the spirit that must be exposed for us to become who we truly are. Our Animus is hidden by disasters, by money, by desire and most importantly by ourselves. We need to be freed by love not racism - forgiveness not self pity - compassion not greed - realism not suicide. We cannot not do it alone - we have our Animus there to help us - to guide us - to follow the spirit's light - to have faith and walk by the spirit no matter the cost. The music on this album is my representation of my Animus.
