Cold Blue Water is Humboldt's newest original rock and blues band celebrating their debut CD with some of the best musicians in the business. Local guitarist/singer/songwriter Andy Bs (pronounced B-S) is joined by drummer Ty Dennis of the legendary Doors (Manzarek-Krieger), top LA "studio and session bassist Brad Cummings (“Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me”), B. Swizlo on Hammond B-3 organ, and horn players Don Hammerstedt (trumpet) and Russ Thallheimer (sax).

Cold Blue Water's self-titled CD was recorded in LA's Greene Room Studio and includes many special guests – most notably Hammond B-3 legend Mike Finnigan (Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Bonnie Raitt), Duane Betts and Pedro Arevalo (Dickey Betts and Great Southern), and Southern California sax phenom Keith McKelly. Additional recording was also done locally at Universal Balance Studios in Arcata. The CD was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City by senior engineer Greg Calbi (Paul Simon, Lenny Kravitz, John Lennon, Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule).

Andy Bs has been playing guitars since he was 12. Starting out on electric bass and playing in bands, he also attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, as a music major on string bass. Andy also toured the southeast with rock-jam band Casual Insanity from 1993-1995. He has been in Humboldt County since 1996 and has played in numerous local and regional acts (Something Different, Free Agents, Non Prophets) as well as raising a family.

Andy's main focus for his band is the authentic sound of the bands he grew up on, particularly the heavy blues rock of the late '60s and early '70s. The vintage guitars, amps and components of that era are all a part of the Cold Blue Water experience.
