Thanks for taking the time to check out my album, Painterhood Valley! This is a collection of songs that were inspired by some people and places of Southeast Kansas. I grew up in a little community in Elk County Kansas called Busby... the song Painterhood Valley is about this little place, the artesian wells, and my grandmother Iris Haggard Gilbert that passed away in June of 2009. When I was a kid I would ride my bike down to one of the three artesian wells there in Busby and would play along the Painterhood Creeks. I grew up there just like my father before me and know the place like the back of my hand. It is a place that my mind often travels to and I hope that through my songs that I can take you along on the journey.
