Description
The chumps invite you to collaborate with this 'interactive' concept album. They provide the music and concept, you provide the story, in this sprawingly epic double CD that ranges from dub bass electronica to cinematic stillness.
Notes
Cyberchump provides a double CD of motion and mood, the listener provides the story. Cyberchump asks you to collaborate with them in this sprawling release. At the end of the Space Age and the beginning of the Earth Age, the music is inspired by the concept of Gaia; a theory that the Earth is a living ecosystem that is able to adjust and respond to changes brought about by its inhabitants. However, have humans brought the Earth to a tipping point where it may not be able to renew itself? Known for their genre mashing and sense of humor, this release travels from groove-based psy-tronica to cinematic stillness, inviting the listener to create a story for the music.
Disc Now (1) focuses on grooving, electronic, trippy beats with dub bass, keyboard and guitar washes. The compositions and arrangements on Disc If (2) start off dark and frightening, slowly sinking into heavy territory and eventual stillness. Ocean Wrecking was composed for the 2009 Hydrophonia festival in order to bring awareness to noise pollution in our oceans. Wind in Sleep was composed for an event in which people slept in the desert while listening to this piece.
Taken as a whole, the entire work begins with technological themes as it moves toward a focus on earth, sky and water.
