Notes
Blå Nerver (Blue nerves) - Dag Ringstad Band
All my records have been solo projects, where I have worked with highly profiled and skilled musicians. Still, I have always wanted to work out my songs in a band, like we did in my youth. I have now been lucky enogh to engage a gang with Musicians for some time, and we have worked together both in rehearsal, cocertscenes and in studio. These guys are: Geir Winnæss on guitar, Gard Winnæss on drums, Vidar Bø on keyboards and Knut Johannessen on base. At the start Alf Tore Rassmussen played drums, and it is his drums you hear on the “Glansbildet” (Glossed image).
In addition to the band, there are some guest artists on the album the back up singer on the fore entioned “Glansbildet”, is the amazing voise of Helene Bøgsle. Another norwegian artist I admire is Tove Bøygard, and it was great to sing the duet "Sommer"(Summer) with her. Also fun has been working with my youngest son, Julian Ringstad, who is both singing and playing Sax on the song "Læreren” (Teacher). I have always been a fan of Jethro Tull, and always wanted to do one of their songs. So I was thrilled when they approved my translation and let me use the song. Another translated song is the Bad Company song "seagull" who was translated into "Havørna". In this song, Lisa Birkedal is playing flute.
The Music is distinctly Folk/Rock genre, and many of the arrangements are built around my acoustic guitar. The lyrics revolve around themes like fidelity, psychic problems, fear of death and the final apocalypse, with a few brighter spots like the longing for warmth in "Summer" and the wish for a Good Person in the song " Heaven in heart"
