Notes
Propelled by VH1's 2001 hit show "Bands on the Run," Josh Dodes has developed a loyal national following for his unique style of high-energy, piano-based pop-rock. His band's critically-acclaimed debut "Get Up" ("****... a surprisingly accomplished debut album" -- All Music Guide) was voted one of the top 5 CDs of the year by CD Baby's worldwide customer base. Josh has built upon this success through regular touring -- he has played venues such as Irving Plaza and Bowery Ballroom (NYC), Camden Yards (Baltimore), The Tabernacle and The Cotton Club (Atlanta), The Kennedy Center (Washington, DC), and House of Blues (Boston) -- and airplay on independent and commercial radio stations across the U.S. In the past year alone, he has opened for Avril Lavigne, Pat Benatar, Duncan Sheik, The B-52's, Alana Davis, BBMak, and funk legend Maceo Parker.
Based in New York City, Josh routinely plays to packed crowds ("one full house after another," raves the New York Times on the Web) in New York and throughout the entire Northeast. Fueled by fan favorites such as "Be My Friend, But Be Naked," which fans have pushed to #1 on MP3.com's AAA chart, Josh's high-octane live show has been a major element of his evolution from NYC local favorite to an emerging national act.
