Doc West, raised in Flatonia, Texas, began playing guitar in 2005 during graduate school at Texas A&M University. It was shortly after in the summer of 2006 that he formed a band and would begin to chase a new career in music. All while attending graduate school then veterinary school at Texas A&M he continued to perform and his passion for music grew more and more. Shortly after graduating in 2011, he began working on his first EP album which released in June 2012. That album is available under "Jose Salazar" titled "Finding Me". In the fall of 2012 work on a second EP began and plans for release of an official single came about. With the help and advice of several individuals a name change was decided upon so that there was no confusion on the genre of music he played when shipped across the state to numerous radio stations given his real name. With the single release of "Heart of Stone" in July 2013 and the EP in August 2013 he hopes to build on his audience and continue writing about real life experiences that listeners can relate to.
