Notes
From Exclaim Magazine:
Hanover, ON metal quintet Odium are gearing up for the April 24 release of their sophomore set Burning the Bridges to Nowhere, but if you were hoping for a sneak peek to start a push pit at home to, Exclaim! is bringing you a stream of the album just a little early.
Down below you can listen to the whole album, which arrives via Year of the Sun Records. Standouts like the album's opening title track pit detuned, jud-judding six-strings and double-kick drum rhythms with singer Thomas Emmans's varied vocal styles, which run from Maynard James Keenan-styled creep-crooning to esophagus-annihilating screams.
While the band specialize in modern metal poundings, "Within the Distraction" runs through an Iron Maiden-styled twin guitar intro, while closing rock ballad "The Descent" softens things just slightly with a weepy string section and ethereal guitar treatments.
