Description

Americana-a little rock, a little folk and a little alternative country.

Notes

"Craig and his songs are woven from the rich fabric of the West. An incredible mosaic of cowboy, California folk and 60's rock in an unique debut album. Like the Coyote in his song, Craig boldly sits at the edge of the city lights and comments on life in the West then slips back into the desert canyons before dawn"

Singer songwriter Craig Rayburn has been a Santa Cruz favorite for close to three decades. Rayburn has finally released his solo debut, “Coyote” Urged on by fans and friends, Rayburn with the encouragement of multi-award winning singer songwriter Keith Greeninger, entered Tim Prince’s Ridgetop Studios in Aptos, California last spring to begin recording. Rayburn along with producers Keith Greeninger and Tim Prince created a masterful collection of Rayburn’s originals. This record showcases Rayburn’s diversity, including folk-rock, country, ballads and Americana.

Joining him in this collaboration with rich melodies are Keith Greeninger (Glorious Peasant,Wind River Crossing) and Tamala Brown, Jimmy Norris with "right on" drumming (Lacy J. Dalton, Larry Hosford), Paul Olguin (Mazzy Starr,Bob Weir, Elvin Bishop)with driving bass, multi-instrumentalist Dayan Kai (flute, trumpet, mandolin, accordian and vocals), former Wayback fiddler ChoJo Jacques, hot L.A. guitarist Randy Mitchell (Warren Zevon, Billy Bob Thornton, Donna Summers), SF pianist extraordinarie John R. (Robin Ford, Alison Brown, Maria Muldar) and brother Keith Rayburn with some tasty leads on dobro and slide guitar.

On “Coyote”, Rayburn’s powerful and rich vocals combine with songs ranging from the heartfelt, to funny, to ironic, to romantic and take you on a lyrical journey of the human experience. No two songs are alike and after listening to this album you will be left feeling uniquely satisfied.
