Cryin' River is comprised of Damon Chaplin (guitars, vox), Jimmy Packes (guitars, vox) Scotty Kightlinger (drums, vox) and Pat D'Bassiste (bass, Vox). All the members of the band are seasoned musicians who have paid their dues in various bands over the years. The members of Cryin' River all met while playing with Orange County, California bands Recovered and Daredevil.
During this time Jimmy was working with a number of bands including an original Southern Rock band, of which he was a co-founder and main song writer, called TBS. That band had shows booked in Hollywood and Los Angeles, CA and Jimmy asked the boys of they'd like to do the shows. They liked the concept and the material and agreed. After the last show, and a falling out between the two founding members of TBS, they decided that the band and material were too good to not be heard. They then set about working on new material with Jimmy writing the music and Damon and Jimmy sharing the lyric writing chores.
By combining their influences as well as their love for hard rock, southern rock and most importantly, a great groove, they struck out to create something new & fresh. This ain't your daddy's Southern Rock.
