Description
An eclectic mixture of powerful, modern rock and melodic power pop. paying homage to the likes of The Beatles, Stone Temple Pilots, Rush and Sting.
Notes
At the age of ten, Dave could be found on the floor of his bedroom, strumming an acoustic guitar to his brothers’ hand-me-down Beatles albums. He drummed in the school band, and by high school, he'd discovered jazz and adopted the upright bass.
Soon after high school, Dave left Virginia to tour with the successful southern rock bands Doc Holliday and Rajun. After years on the road, home called, and returning to Southwest Virginia, he lent his musical talents to leading local bands and recording studios as a first-call bassist.
On "Desire", his debut album, Dave paints sonic landscapes, reflecting the turbulent times in which he wrote the songs. This CD weaves among genres, from alt rock to power pop, revealing a surprising range of emotions, influences, and musical talents.
His latest CD "Fallen Angel" is set for release in early September 2008. Dave wrote, performed, produced and recorded all the instruments and vocals with the exeption of guest appearances on a couple tracks by the extremely talented Isaiah Osborne (keys) and Jody Ensor (guitar). While the tone of this project took on a heavier, rock vibe; there's still an eclectic mix of genres including instrumentals (The Mantra, Lucky Sevens), as well as the jazzy "Out Of My Mind".
