Notes

In 1972 David Hanson and his five band mates known as "Overland Stage", rolled off the prairie into the Columbia Recording Studios in San Francisco. The Overland Stage had been signed by Epic Records, a dvision of Columbia Records, which was lead at the time by Clive Davis. Ten tracks later a self-titled album was released and two singles " Salvation" and " I'm Beginning to Feel It". The album was produced by legendary Producer Bob Destocki. The album did well in several regions of the country, but was not the success that Epic had hoped for. The group disbanded several years later.

David moved on, and in 1975 joined forces with musician Jack Sundrud starting Friendship Productions (recording studio). In the early 80's Jack left the business and headed to Nasville where he became a prominent songwriter and member of the group Poco. In 1988 David formed H2M Productions, a very successful full service advertising/marketing agency specializing in audio/video productions. All the while David continued to write songs and compose music.

In 2005 David ran into an old friend, Steve Sholy, in a wine bar in downtown Fargo, ND. Steve and Peggy (wife) were in from Las Vegas visiting family. Five years later, in 2010, David and Steve formed Hanson/Sholy Music Group, a music publishing business. HSMG was formed to publish and market David music and to publish and market for other songwriters.
