The Lost Soul Redeemers
NEFARIO
From the forthcoming album NEFARIO a Dark Rock Opera!
The Lost Soul Redeemers came together in 2014 as a project conceived by Criston Barker, Vocals, Bass and guitar. The band consists of Randy Bulpin & John Moon on Guitar, Tony Fossey on Keyboards and Bill Lincoln drums. Together they have been working the music business since the early 70’s and have all played and recorded with some of Australia’s elite bands including Ash, Freeway, Buster Brown, Mondo Rock, Sidewinder, the Jim Keys Band, Mike Rudd’s W.H.Y, Air Supply, Spectrum, The Heaters, Avalanche and the Uploaders, to mention just a few.
This EP is a teaser to an album the boys will release in early 2016 and deals with what Criston describes as “the darkness that lie’s within us all”. The ghouls, vampires, werewolves and demons within our very own psyche that lead us into and out of temptation.
This is truly a heavy dose of conceptual rock inspired by our fascination with the dark side. Inspiration from the movie Nosferatu and Bran Stoker’s Dracula give this EP an almost operatic theme that will both excite and hopefully assist the listener in dealing with their own personal demons. Sometimes good, sometimes nefarious. It’s the age-old fight between good and evil.
1. Hell On Earth embodies the doubting mind and the loss of friends and loved ones in a heavy grunge-orama.
2. The Preacher was inspired from the 1955 movie “Night Of The Hunter” starring Robert Mitchum and Lillian Gish, A menacing movie of human torment and evil. Directed by Charles Laughton. (The original Hunchback of Notre Dame)
3. Showdown is an operatic rock tour de force battle between good and evil.
“There’s gonna be a showdown, there’s gonna be a fight tonight, There’s gonna be a showdown, ya better get ready to fight!”
4. Showdown Reprise reflects the basic need for us all to know that it will all be ok in the end.
