Description

David Thornton's first solo release, after years of singing and writing with Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Kathy Troccoli and many others, features soaring vocals with his unique blend of jazz, folk, and driving guitar on original and creative songs.

Notes

David has toured the world, singing and playing for presidents and rulers, prisoners and orphans. He has been a concert and studio session singer and player for over thirty years, and currently is involved in concerts in the Nashville, Tennessee area, where he has sung at the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe. Known for his beautiful voice and excellent songwriting, David loves the encounter with 'other' - and has studied nine languages and visited many countries to meet the 'other'. He might be the only multilingual, psychologically trained, pastorally experienced, doctoral student on the scene! If you like his music, contact him at thorntonforward@gmail.com - and buy the album!

David Harris produced this album, and David Thornton is still grateful for the energy he put into it. Thanks go to Beth Aylard for flute work on 'Lovingkindness', Gretchen Harris for background vocals on 'I Will Praise You, Lord' and 'Make Me Your Own', to Sophia Severino for background vocals on 'Alexandra' (and to Alexandra Thornton, for laughing and cooing as a baby on her own song). To Fred Walecki of Westwood Music, for being the very coolest equipment supplier on the planet, and to Douglas and Catherine Gregg, for their love and support and prayers.

Now - 2013 - David is grateful to the clergy and music teams at St Bartholomew's Church, Nashville, and to the mates and crew at Trader Joes! The peace of Christ be with us all.
