Notes
In many ways, I haven't traveled the normal musical path. I remember the first day of my guitar lessons. My father borrowed a guitar from a friend after I begged him to give me the opportunity to take lessons. I was ten years old. I sat the guitar down, left to get a drink of water and it was promptly smashed when a folded ping-pong table fell upon it. I didn't play a guitar again for 9 more years.
Meeting Craig Patterson of Plate 68 and Rob Morse really gave me the creative outlet I desired. There have never been any limits when the three of us play music together. It gave me a sense of freedom and opened up new options. I started playing bass, then bought a guitar and now I collect musical instruments. I don't claim to be a virtuoso on anything, quite the opposite. I just try to build on musical themes and rhythmic ideas, help other artists with their works and create something lasting.
I know that I've only just scratched the surface of my ability. Ultimately, I'd like to be able to play music that I write and be able to pay my bills. I'm hopeful that you will enjoy some of my songs and identify with some of the themes. I hope you will tell people about Lumpy Taters and I hope you find me worthy of a few of your dollars once in a while. I promise you that I'll take full advantage of the opportunities that come my way and I'll do my best to provide you with fresh material.
