Notes
Written for Piano & three strings at 149 beats per minute, this track is an up tempo piece designed to create a good energy for the sometimes repetitive act of building structures in Minecraft.
Minecraft is an online video game with around 10 million players and centers around creating incredible structures from basic building blocks. One of my teenagers is a fan and I will often sit at the piano and watch him play; I’ll let the energy of his activity dictate the music that comes out.
The first piece in this series was called Design and was a much slower solo piano piece that reflected his thinking process when it came to planning out a structure. This track is more about the frenetic speed at which – once an idea is in place - the blocks are placed and the incessant clicking that goes with it.
Of course, it doesn’t just work on creative video games – this piece is perfect as study music if you’re looking for some energy to get going.
