Description

In their third album, Richardoug starts off with a country/funk mix, then ventures into more eclectic styles like the motown, goth, more orchestral, more drum ensembles, thrash/tribal rock, and ends it with a blues-based drumming extravaganza.

Notes

Monkey Vs Dragons finishes the adventure of Mudflap and Sippycups. Inspired by whatever he hears, and whenever he hears, Richardoug pumped out 16 last ideas.

"Gotta Put Some Jiggle In It, UH!!" came about during a drive to the grocery store. Richardoug noticed a jogger of substantial physical build wearing tight revealing clothes that was not designed for their body type. Upon noticing this Richardoug said out loud GOTTA PUT SOME JIGGLE IN IT, UH!!! and then looked in the passenger seat and realized he was driving by himself and no one was around to hear it.

"Ooga Booga Man II: Electric Boogaloo" came around a year after the first "Ooga Booga Man" track found on their 2nd album NO HASSLE. He wanted to do a straight 4/4 upbeat tune but somehow use the bass line from the first "Ooga Booga Man which is in a different time signature.

"in the Forest of the Orchid Robes" is just a "mish-mish of rhythms part 1" that Richardoug had been wanting to record for decades but just need to wait and find the write melodies to make it an actual sing. The name of the song was even harder to come by.

"Mishari" is a drum ensemble Richardoug wrote back in 1995 dedicated to an owner of a world imports boutique in Fremont California. She sold him his first two djembe's.

"Jimmy Done Stole My Groove Back" is a drum rhythm that Richardoug came up with during a stint in a previous band. They liked it and added music to his rhythms. But after everything went sour, Richardoug wanted to find a way to make it his own again.

"Waters of Rhea" is a just a "mish-mash of rhythms part 2" that Richardoug had been working on for years as well. He just need time to coax out a melody from it. Again...it took even longer to think of a name.

"Loralie and I" is another "reclaimed" rhythm from prior band tunes.

"The Coral Reef Overture" came about while watching a zombie movie.

"Persepheone's Fountain" is a "mish-mash of rhythms part 3" that Richardoug added a haunting melodic tune, added a happy bridge, and then finished it off with some key changes.

"Like Buying Rootbeer From a Hardware Store" is a tune in honor of a real life phenomena. In the town that he currently resides, there is a hardware store that sells the most amazing rootbeer Richardoug has consumed. And yet....it is the only store that sells it. Not even grocery stores sell it.

"Lady of the Lake ( pontoon remix)" is the percussion ensemble version of the piano ballad Richardoug composed in honor of his mother-n-law that was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

"Ode to DeVere" is a song dedicated to Richardoug's sister-in-law who wants it understood that without any doubt...SHAKESPEARE IS THE ONE

"Subway Jungle Stomp" is another drum ensemble Richardoug composed back in 1995.

"Fight or Flight" is a song written during a tumultuous time between Richardoug and his wife dealing with e passing of her mother.

"Under Construction" is another drum ensemble that wasnt thought of until the summer of 2010 when Richardoug thought of a marimba melody while using the copy machine at work.

"Broke, Blind, & Bedlam" is a tune inspired by and dedicated to the greatest drummer of them all.
