Description

Most of the songs I have written have come from tough places in life. In some cases, the songs were the direct answer and instruction on how to get through the place I was in. Others are simply the testimony that God will bring you through.

Notes

Hello, I am Nathan Patterson. I'm from the small town of Bonne Terre, Missouri. I grew up in a God fearing home were Godly principles and values were taught. My parents, Bobby and Rebecca, raised my sister, Erica, and I in church. We were not casual goers, we were very involved. I have no regrets about being involved in church. It has truly given me a great foundation to stand upon. Family is very important and is something that can’t be substituted. My family, growing up, would sit around in our spare time, playing and singing gospel music. So from a very young age I had a great love for music. As a child I would sing about everything, and anything could be used as a drum, piano, guitar, or microphone.
As life would progress I would meet and fall deeply in love with my now wife, Courtney. We have been married for 11 1/2 years and have three beautiful children. From the age of 7 (her) and 10 (me) we had a very deep connection. Even though at times life would cause us to be separated, this deep down love would always bring us back together. I guess you could say we were “grade school” sweethearts. Courtney and I have been through thick and thin, good and bad, mountains and valleys, but through it all we still stand. I wouldn’t want to experience life with out her. She is very supportive in every endeavor and is always encouraging me.
Each one of our children are different but all God sent miracles. Our oldest, Caden, has high functioning Autism and Aspergers Syndrome. We have had a lot of highs and lows on this journey with him but can’t imagine life with out him. Caden is truly amazing and has taught me so much about myself. He also inspired me to write a song about him, which you can find on my album “Jesus is Coming”. Caden is proud of who and what he is. We have always supported him and have tried to do what we felt was the very best for him. We are far from perfect but he is making great progress and seems to be adapting to life pretty well. Life really is a journey and Caden has taught us to except things for what they are and do our best with what we have. Every situation is not ideal but its not the end of the world either. I watch him struggle daily and even on the days that he seems to fall a little short of the goal, that doesn’t stop him from attacking the next day with a smile and excitement.
Braden is our middle child. Braden is one of the most compassionate, caring, helpful, and selfless children I know. He continually helps us with his other two siblings. Braden is all-American. Wants to play ball, get dirty, and be outside. You know, typical boy stuff. Still, he is very intelligent and is serious about learning. He is very protective and even though he is younger, he more times than not, takes on the role of the older brother. Generosity flows from Braden. He is always thinking of others. I know there is a lot of pressure on him but he handles it with grace and charm. His big heart and warm spirit make him a real delight to be around. We are very blessed to have him.
Chaelyn is our youngest. Of course she is the only girl as well. Chaelyn truly was a healing miracle for our family on many levels. God knew exactly what we needed, when we needed it, and He gave her to us. She adores both of her older brothers and they in return think she is the world. She is a total “ham”. Of course she loves attention, that she continually gets, and is always posing, praying, dancing or, her favorite, eating! She really completes our family.
God really does care about us and wants what is best for us. If we let Him, He will do the miraculous in our lives.
Song writing was something I was always intrigued by but never thought would happen to me. When the songs began to come to me, I was overwhelmed with the gift. Most of the songs I have written have come from tough places in life. In some cases, the songs were the direct answer and instruction on how to get through the place I was in. Others are simply the testimony that God will bring you through. God is very good and has blessed me in so many ways. The way His grace has smiled upon me and my family has truly been amazing. Thank you for taking a few moments of your time to get to know my family.
