Notes
Derek Fairchild found his sound in the Haight Ashbury where he went to high school in the early 80's. A student of Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Stones.
Derek Fairchild moved to Brasil and played in the only blues band in Rio de Janeiro, Blues Etilicos in '86. A blues DJ with a weekly Sunday night show aired their concerts live on O Globo Radio and the band quickly took off.
Derek moved to New York in '89 and made a living playing shows, musicals, sessions and the like until '97 when he moved back to his home town San Francisco. His influences grew to include Radiohead, Wilco and Yo la Tengo etc.
Flat 12 is a power trio filled out by San Francisco's finest drummer and bass player, Andrew Laubacher and Oscar Westesson. They are very busy bees playing in more bands, ensembles and dirges than humanly possible.
Amnesia was produced and engineered by Academy Award Winner, Michael Rosen [Green Day, Santana, Rancid, Papa Roach, Smashmouth ...] at his studio East Bay Recorders.
