Mountain Laurel is a four-person string ensemble based in Knoxville, Tennessee, a town nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and steeped in the Scots-Irish musical tradition.
The tunes on this album reflect our home in East Tennessee and our personal ancestry in Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and England.
Ranging from lively dance tunes to traditional hymns to ballads to pensive songs, our music is, above all, what we love to play. We have also written a couple of original tunes that we hope you will enjoy.
