Notes
I am a original singer/songwriter from Hutchinson, Kansas. I have had a love for country music all of my life. I remember singing "All My Ex's Live in Texas" out on the playground in 2nd grade. Everyone laughed and told me they liked that thing I did with my voice. ;0) I put on many concerts at home as a child for my family and my toys.(You hear a little about that in my song "My Own Pair of Wings".) I was a very shy child and music helped me over come a lot of fears. I will admit I wasn't picked for solo's the first few years of choir as my nerves made my voice sound like lamb chops and my lip would quiver like Elvis...not to mention many stomach aches. I wasn't completely comfortable with singing in front of crowds until my sophomore year of high school when I sang a No Doubt cover with an area garage band, had many school performances and began performing in the summer at my Mom's church.
The year after I graduated high school I attended my first Kenny Chesney concert and the path to my own music career was placed on my bucket list. I discovered I had a knack for lyrics when I started out making parodies to famous songs about ex-boyfriends. When I got bored with parodies I began making my own songs. I have written many songs over the past 11 years and I am forever improving with each song. I only write for fun although it has brought me much success and exposure that I am very thankful for and still can't believe this is part of God's plan for me!
All the tracks on my debut album "Life Wide Open" were written by me alone then co-produced in Wellington , KS (Greenjeans Studio). All the tracks were recorded in 2-3 hour sessions and mastered the same day. Would like to give a shout out to my husband Sam because he is my motivation behind many of the tracks on this album....and many other things. Hope you enjoy the album!!! ~Morgan
