Notes
Steve Kuban is a gifted worship leader with a passion for God’s presence. A professional musical artist since the age of thirteen, he has produced twenty worship albums and 6 videos, and appears frequently on Christian television. He leads worship and teaches in many countries, and writes songs that bring healing, victory and deliverance to people everywhere.
Since his conversion from atheism at the age of 18 (while a student at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston) Steve has been passionately leading worshipers into God’s presence through his exciting, enthusiastic and anointed music styles, which range from jazz, pop, rock, latin and easy-listening, to calypso, soca, samba, and other middle-eastern and ethnic styles. Steve has written over 100 songs, many inspired spontaneously as he worships the Lord. Several, such as "For the Lord Is My Tower" have become anthems in their own right, sung by many around the world.
From the very first notes this album will have you dancing and jumping in praise to the Lord! Beginning with the exuberant and lively title song, "Jump For Jesus" in authentic Trinidadian Soca style (which Steve wrote spontaneously after attending the Caribana Music Festival in Toronto) the listener is encouraged to "Jump" and wave for Jesus in praise!
"Seven Ways to Praise the Lord" teaches the biblical and Hebrew basis for expressing praise to the Lord in seven different ways: as a sacrifice, by lifting hands, dancing and being exuberant with all one's heart, mind, will and strength, playing praise on musical instruments, by singing, and by shouting. Using 'calypsonian license' (a Trinidadian concept that allows the singer to say precisely what he means, even if not 'politically correct' (religiously correct?) so long as he says it in a calypso-styled song), "Seven Ways to Praise" is a light-hearted spoof on keeping your congregation from going to sleep during the worship service (you can even hear the snores in the background if you listen carefully!). If you're fond of the "island flavor", you'll definitely love this song, steel-pan and all!
"Welcome Holy Spirit" is a beautiful song of worship done in a subtle but gently driving 16th groove that literally propels the listener right into the Lord's loving arms, while asking the Holy Spirit to fill and refresh the believer with His living water.
"I Will Fight For You," is a powerful prophetic song the Lord gave to Steve spontaneously while he was singing concerts in Kuwait and Dubai, in response to severe persecution in a nearby country that had resulted in the death of several Filipino believers.
Included in this album are EIGHT accompaniment tracks for live performance, TWO different types for each song:
Stereo PerformanceTracks (all the music and background vocals, properly balanced and blended in stereo, exactly as on the album, but minus the lead vocal)—used to lead congregational worship, to perform live on TV, or in a public service; and
Split-Tracks (also known as 'minus-one'), with istruments on the left side, and background vocals on the right, giving the sound technician precise and individual control over the volume of instruments and background vocals. This is helpful when the song is performed with a live choir or backup vocal team, or when performed by a children's choir or in children's church.
This unique album will bring you hours of joy and blessing, and for everyone who enjoys singing (alone or with many others) can be used to bring blessing and joy to many others.
