Description
Former member of the touring Beach Boys band, Adrian Baker's "Surfer's Paradise" CD is as close to the Beach Boys as it gets with this all surf music themed CD.
Notes
Adrian Baker's,"Surfers Paradise!" (Adrian Baker Productions)
The title, "Surfer's Paradise" pretty much tells you what to expect: pre-1966 styled Beach Boys rock. Baker definitely has the knack for writing Brian Wilson-flavored songs that celebrate the mythical California experience that Wilson pretty much invented. Songs about surf, beach, summer and of course girls. With a few Beach Boys songs thrown in for good measure - they fit with the Baker's original tunes, showing that his songwriting is up to snuff. And of course the vocal harmonies are worth special mention as they are right on the money.
Since the current Mike Love version of the Beach Boys is stuck in a gear that celebrates the "classic" version of the Beach Boys (that is: cars, surf and chicks) almost exclusively, it would be a natural for Baker to team up with Love's Beach Boys to create a new album of Beach Boys-style material. I think Adrian Baker is up for the challenge…but is Love (the owner of the Beach Boys trademark) ready to try something new instead of relying on tired old Beach Boys warhorses? Didn't he learn anything from "Kokomo" New Beach Boys material can sell. This disc is a guilty pleasure for all Beach Boys fans.

In 1975,singer, songwriter and producer, Adrian Baker made his debut on Magnet/Epic Records in the United Kingdom with the album, 'Into a Dream'. From that album, his first single, "Sherry," a cover of the Frankie Valli and Four Seasons song was a top #10 hit on Britain's Music Week charts. Over the years, Adrian has performed on the BBC’s “Top of the Pops” TV program several times.
Adrian's cover version of “California Girls” was featured in the opening sequence of the James Bond (Roger Moore) film, A View to A Kill.
Adrian is best known for being the falsetto voice for the touring Beach Boys band (on and off) since 1981 (1981-82, 1988 - 1993, 1998 - 2004). Adrian was also a member of the touring Four Seasons with Frankie Valli from 1994-'95.
Adrian is currently touring with the band Papa Doo Run Run.

After touring with Beach Boys for over twenty years, Adrian Baker releases an all surf music style cd, "Surfer’s Paradise.”
This album, "Surfer's Paradise", features three classic Beach Boys covers, "The Warmth of the Sun," "All Summer Long," and "And Your Dream Comes True." However the cd’s standout songs are original compositions by him.
Adrian's original compositions on the cd evoke all the elements of classic surfing songs. With tracks such as "The Surf Is Up," "Bring Back Those Surfin' Days," and "Surfers Paradise." Adrian conjures the carefree spirit, distinctive rhythms and lush harmonies that have made surf music a indelible symbol of the legendary Southern California lifestyle.
