Led by Argentine singer, guitar player and composer Ignacio Escribano, and produced by American legend Jimmy Rip (former musician and producer of Mick Jagger, Jerry Lee Lewis, Yoko Ono and Rod Stewart, among others), Everything is love, the third album of Indra Mantras, reaches an amazing sound, joyful spirit and a unique personality.
Far from being solemn or boring, the 50 minutes of music distributed in 8 tracks become a real trip from mind to heart.
Thought and composed for the general audience (and not only to yoga practitioners or India interested people), Everything is love breaks the barriers between East and West, languages, religions, cultures and musical styles: reggae, afro, kirtan, pop, bhajans, folk, bossa-nova, ballad, rock and klezmer music become one.
In Everything is love, an almost 10 minute-long song composed by Ignacio -and dedicated to George Harrison- with lyrics in Spanish, English and Sanskrit; or in the opening song, Hari Sundar Nanda Mukunda, in which after an "afro" intro the Indian bhajan changes to reggae style and ends up merging with that universal hymn by Bob Marley: One Love.
The same could be said in the beauty combination of Om Namah Shivaya Gurave with Here comes the sun, in a renewed groove with tablas, guitars, ukeleles and all kind of Brazilian percussions. Or In Ile Aye´s version in which the Jaya Guru Omkara mantra blends with the classical Caetano Veloso´s song, amid an Obladi Oblada´s piano and a clarinet solo in klezmer music style.
A dream team of top of the line musicians participate in the album: Jimmy Rip (guitars and programming), Ignacio Escribano (vocals, guitars and programming), Bernardette Ben (vocals), Debanti Sengupta (vocals), Fini Hernández Gascón (vocals), Ariel Argañaraz (guitar), Mario Perkins (sitar), Broder Bastos (cavaquinho), Eddie Young (cello), Javier Acevedo (accordion), Franco Luciani (harmonic), Sergio Gutiérrez (keyboards), Juan Presas (tenor saxophone), Martín Rur (clarinet), Sebastián Garay (bass), Joantan Szer (percussions), Augusto Argañaraz (percussions) and a great choir.
Indra Mantras combines mantras in Sanskrit with pop, electronic, World Music and Latin American rhythms and sounds. The repertoir also includes songs in Spanish, English and Portuguese, many times blended with the ancient mantras. The project, which started in 2010, is led by argentine singer, guitar player and composer Ignacio Escribano, with the main objectives to popularize mantras and raise human values in society.
