THE “TWISTED” JOURNEY
Have you ever been to the lake, beach or a tailgate party & just wanted to hear a song that made you wanna have fun?...Yeah, we did too, so “The ISSUES” band formed and recorded the album “TWISTED”. Fun, power-tunes with a side of tongue-in cheek that you'll wanna pay attention to later, but we digress... After the keg run's dry, think 4 punks that came 2gether to rock yer ass with reckless abandon...we really dig this music...kinda makes ya wanna go out & get another tattoo, right? Everybody has Issues...we give you ours.
This record is what 4 good friends who happen to be musically talented can do in a home studio with lots of really cool original songs, determination, & booze. Every time we pushed the "record" button was an adventure...luckily the tracks you will hear are mostly 1st take. Yeah, we cleaned up some stuff, but not much. We hail from Nashville, TN, not renown for it's ROCK...not yet, anyway...ENJOY!

As remembered by Chris Hopkins:
We recorded 'Twisted' in my basement of "The Heavy House", so dubbed because so many "weird" things seemed to happen in that joint from day one. I'm not leaning so much toward 'haunted' as much as 'doomed'. I lived there with my with my fiancé for almost 10 years...she eventually ran off with my best friend (that's a whole 'nother story) Might be that she was my “fiancé for 10 years….. Bliss was the order of the day, great house with a cool vibe. Rooms painted in very rock'n roll colors, think checkerboard, black, bright green & purple & red. Inlayed blue neon lighted bar, it was quite the adult playground...until our 'Chow' fell off the deck & plummeted 20+ feet to her death...she died in my arms. From then on we were "that house" in our neighborhood. Amongst the fires, floods & totaled cars, dogs & people, you could always follow the cops, ambulances & fire trucks to our address. The lone virtue was the basement loaded with borrowed recording gear from Underground Sound (my reluctant employer). We could track when we wanted to, party when we wanted to at any hour, day or night. That freedom produced the recording you are listening to now. All the bullshit aside, I wouldn't change a single thing...hope you dig it.

ABOUT THE SONGS

Satisfied: Totally ripped from a 'Dandy Worlhol's' tune that we really dug at the time...

Angeline: 1st band co-write about a drunk chic that made about as much sense as trying to smell the color 9...

Deanna: Ended up married to Jim. (for a minute) I asked him how I tasted, and he said really awful. I wrote this song before Jimmy found her...kinda. He hated playing this. I guess neither one of us could have her...

Hammerhead: Love gone so wrong, that used to be so right, self-deprecation galore, Not suicidal, just a self-kick in the ass...

After all: Childhood grief aplenty...fractured families and the damage you might expect. This song is a musical SHOTGUN to all the evil out there. NO room for you...anywhere... Our very sad observation of child abuse, and the cries for help that go unheard...or un regarded...shameful

Do Better: Classic mid-western saga of a chastised kid...overwhelmed by parental control to no avail. BE YOURSELF...(unless you can be a Dragon, then be a Dragon)

Paint:: This is a pretty much "I've HAD IT WITH YOU" kinda song...you can score or fumble, your choice...*sigh*

Sweet Surrender's Parade: Our examination of cults and how feeble minded folks can get sucked in to the point of no return...

The well: The moving van is out front...I really gotta go. You can keep the vacuum, toaster & coffee maker...I'm dirty, like my bread cold & I'm going to STARBUCKS, they know me there...you don't know me at all...

Goodbye or Goodnight: The frustration that comes with indecision of the heart...quite simple, really...is this over, or will I see you in the morning. Sometimes you just don't know

Anything At All: Nothing ever meant so much, gone away so quickly....... damn.
