Description

As with any musical, Their Destiny contains a wide variety of music - from fanfares to blues-rock to ballads to pop to big band to instrumental background to love songs - it's all there.

Notes

This is the musical of true friendship, true love, and true loss. The story is about three friends in 1970 and how circumstances beyond their control prescribe an almost preordained set of events.
Their friendship is firmly tested when a love triangle develops between Andy, Destiny, and Billy-Bob. Destiny declares for Billy-Bob, causing a rift so deep that Andy abandons Destiny and Billy-Bob - only to return after realizing his deep affections for them.
The respite is brief, however, as Billy-Bob has been drafted and sent to Vietnam. A night watch duty results in disaster when Billy-Bob, in an unguarded moment dreaming of Destiny's face, allows his post to be overrun by the Viet Cong. He is knocked out, but his two army buddies are killed in the attack and fall on top of him. Billy-Bob regains consciousness with their blood dripping into his face.
The psychological torment of Billy-Bob is compounded by the fact that he can no longer look at Destiny without reliving the horror, shame, and guilt of that night. Andy's task of consoling Destiny and helping Billy-Bob seems insurmountable. Destiny's confusion between Andy's solid countenance and Billy-Bob's self-destruction becomes hopeless - hopeless until her acceptance of the uncontrollable events culminating in Billy-Bob's demise.
