"The Halls make beautifully dark music that is rooted in pop music and the alternative nation of the late 80’s/early 90’s. It’s future dance music for the brokenhearted and the outsiders." - Heavy and Weird Blog

Welcome to THE HALLS…mysterious, atmospheric
chambers echoing with melodic riffs, epic walls of sound
and soaring melodies.
"At times gentle, yet others raucous, coarse and thrashing, the foursome
are an interesting blend of atmospheric rock that often sounds like a mixture of
The Divinyls, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Jezabels and The Cure." - Candy Shop TV
Brisbane has been buzzing about THE HALLS, with their debut self-titled EP
already winning love from Triple J, 4ZZZ & the blogosphere. THE HALLS' recent
east coast tour of Australia introduced THE HALLS to new audiences, and next
year will see an ambitious full-length album from the foursome.
“THE HALLS is a band to watch out for, their live set is unlike anything else
Brisbane has to offer at the moment.” - Clint Morrow, Heavy and Weird Blog
(live review of THE HALLS' recent EP launch).
Fresh on the scene in late 2012, THE HALLS are a band of beautiful contrasts.
Recently described as 'shiver pop', their 80s & 90s-influenced alt-rock flits from
intricate and delicate, to sparse and epic, to grungy and trashy. Sometimes within
the same song. With flowing drums, expressive guitars that solo in strange ways,
memorable melodies and intense, emotive vocals, you can expect the unexpected
when you visit THE HALLS.
“It is astounding to witness such an enormous voice coming from the small frame
of lead singer and awesome bassist Bec. The sound reminds me a little of
The Cranberries, with the same kind of vibrancy and emotion of the vocals that
command attention. If you have not seen or heard THE HALLS perform yet, then
you have identified a need you must satisfy.“ - 4ZZZ Radio
Fronting THE HALLS on lead vocals and bass guitar is Bec Wolfers, with
Ross Pridham and Ged Lawrence manning the guitars, and James Boothroyd
rattling the foundations with his drums and backing vocals.

THE HALLS' first single 'Dancing On Your Grave', released December 2012,
has achieved favourable reviews and play from Triple J Unearthed,
and a rotation slot on ABC's Rage. It was recently featured in Season 4 of
Channel Ten's popular 'Offspring' show.

This year, THE HALLS have been busy, performing throughout Brisbane
with acts such as Blonde on Blonde, The Vernons, Jennifer Boyce (of
Ball Park Music), Jakarta Criers, The Oceanics, The Roshambos, Love
Hate Rebellion, The Boys, and the Bertie Page Clinic. Venues such as
The Zoo, Brisbane State Library, Melbourne's The Espy, Black Bear
Lodge, Ric's and The Tempo have welcomed THE HALLS' vibrant live
show to their stages.

Stay tuned.
