Description

The Great Divide's debut EP is a heavy hitting progressive metal record which is heavily rooted in technical/death metal, influenced by jazz fusion, and blends in the sheer raw emotion of hardcore.

Notes

So many bands nowadays sound alike, and even more shoot for a linear sounding style, it's due time a band steps forward to break the stale mold of the progressive metal scene. “To create a fresh perspective on progressive metal and help to rebuild their scene” - that’s the mission of The Great Divide. The Great Divide is a four-piece collective of best friends based out of Chicago, IL, formed in late 2013. The band prides themselves on doing everything independently, from recording their own music to running all aspects of their business and marketing. The Great Divide believes that with enough hard work, dedication, and a strong vision anyone can create their own reality, and that much is apparent from their work ethic and devotion to their music.

Working very hard over the past few months, The Great Divide is now gearing up for their debut EP release ‘Fault Lines’ which is projected for release this winter. Fault Lines is shaping up to be a heavy hitting, progressive metal record which is rooted heavily in technical death metal, while complimenting itself with elements of jazz fusion, and blending in the sheer raw emotion of hardcore. The band has hopes that this EP will help to establish their diverse sound and bring to their listeners an effective combination of many different styles.
