Notes
I grew up as the youngest child in a family of 10 children. My parents were both musicians and met playing for the silent movies in 1930, in my Dad's hometown Elkton, South Dakota. We all sang together as a family and I learned from a young age what music could do for people. Singing harmony came naturally and so all of the harmony vocals were recorded by me doing a separate digital track for each part. In 2005, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In the middle of going through chemotherapy, Jesus woke me up one night at 2:00 a.m. and gave me the lyrics and music for the song "She is a Warrior." I dedicated the song to those who fought the battle and won and those who lost their heroic battle to the disease. The song "The Broken Thread" came from a poem my mom had written about my dad the day after he passed away on June 2, 1973. My mom wrote lots of poetry and was a gifted writer. Some of the songs on the album were written for family members and friends. My hope is that as you listen to the album, that you'll get a real sense of how God works in my life, and that I want so much for people to see Jesus instead of me. Obedience and humbleness are two things I pray about very hard and hope to live out every day. Thank you for reading about me and I pray that you will be blessed by what you hear.
